Hello there!
We are one week into October, a month I am filling with hopes and dreams like always, a month in which my plate is overly full like always, a month in which I have plans with a bestie to dress in our finest fall sweaters and visit the local colonial crypt (seriously!), go on a ghost tour, read matching scary novels, and finally visit Cape Cod. We hope to see Salem if we can.
As I’ve noted, this past year has been more full than John and I have known how to handle, and amidst the joys and challenges that brings, I find myself with an even deeper appreciation for those people in life who really stick with you, who show up for big moments and small, who know where you’ve been and celebrate where you’re going, who can hear a hard truth and not shy away.
Life is richest in relationship, which I learned a couple of weeks ago when John began his long-anticipated new role as music director of the Spartanburg Philharmonic.
The night was as exciting and beautiful as you’d imagine, with excellent music and a champagne party at the end. As I flitted about, dressed to the nines and greeting various groups of people, I was overjoyed to watch my husband shine and show what he stands for after years of preparation and quiet dedication. But what really grounded me and made my spirit sing at the event…
